For years, I made myself smaller.
Smaller opinions. Smaller needs. Smaller presence. I folded into rooms instead of entering them. I whispered my ideas instead of speaking them. I convinced myself that taking up less space was a kindness to everyone else.
But it wasn't kindness. It was fear.
Fear that I was too much. Fear that my fullness would inconvenience someone. Fear that if I showed up completely, I'd be rejected completely.
This season, something changed.
I stopped apologizing for having needs. I stopped shrinking my voice to match the comfort levels of people who never adjusted theirs for me. I stopped performing smallness to be palatable.
And the world didn't end.
In fact, it opened.
The right people leaned in closer. The right opportunities began to find me. The version of myself I'd been protecting started to breathe.. fully, freely, without permission.
I'm not loud about it. I'm not making a scene. But I'm here. All of me. Taking up the space I spent years giving away.
This isn't arrogance. It's arrival.
And I think this is the version of me I was always becoming.. the one who stops shrinking and starts living.
Finally.
