I'm becoming more selective with my energy

Lately, I’ve been paying attention to how my body reacts before my mind has time to explain it away.

Lately, I’ve been paying attention to how my body reacts before my mind has time to explain it away.

What feels light. What feels heavy.

    What quietly asks for distance.

This isn’t about shutting people out. It’s about listening more closely.

As I learn to trust myself again, I’m also learning that not everything deserves my energy. Not every conversation needs a response. Not every situation requires my presence just because it always has.

There’s a difference between being available and being aligned.

I used to think protecting my energy meant being cold or distant. Now I see it as care. For myself, and for the relationships I choose to keep. Showing up fully requires knowing where you don’t need to.

This season feels less emotional and more intentional. Less reactive. More discerning.

I’m no longer forcing connections that feel strained, or explaining why I need space. I’m letting my choices speak quietly, and trusting that the right people will understand or not need an explanation at all.

There’s peace in this kind of selectiveness. A calm confidence that doesn’t ask to be validated.

And maybe this is what growth looks like now. Not becoming more open but becoming more honest about where I belong.
