The new year didn’t arrive with clarity. It arrived with silence.
After the countdown ended and the noise settled, I realized something — not everything needs to come with me.
I’m leaving behind the need to explain myself. The habit of staying where I feel tolerated, not chosen. The guilt that comes with choosing rest over proving my worth.
Some things were never meant to be carried into a new year. They did their job. They taught me. And now, they can stay where they belong — in the past.
I used to think letting go required answers. Now I know it only requires honesty.
Honesty with myself. Honesty about what drains me. Honesty about what no longer feels aligned.
This year, I’m choosing to move forward lighter. Not because I’ve healed everything, but because I’m done punishing myself for what I didn’t know back then.
I don’t need closure from everyone. I don’t need permission to grow. Some things end quietly. And maybe that’s the most peaceful way.
